The Staff at St. Michael’s School

Beth Fleenor – Director and Young 5’s Teacher

Beth has a M.A. in Speech / Language Pathology from the University of Illinois and a B.S. in Audiology and Speech Science from Purdue University. She has been with St. Michael’s School since 1999, beginning as a classroom assistant until 2003 – then transitioning to the Young 5’s Teacher in 2004. She became director in 2010. 


Susan Wallace – 4 year old Teacher

Susan graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1986 with a Major in Accounting. She moved to Cincinnati after graduation where she lived for ten years before coming to Lexington in 1996. She has three children and has worked at St. Michael’s as an assistant since 2006- then transitioned into a 4 year old teacher in 2019.


Catherine Sylvester – 4 year old Teacher

Catherine graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She taught for six years in Charleston, SC, teaching preschool for a year and 1st Grade for five years. She moved to Lexington in 2005 and taught a year of Kindergarten and a year of 1st Grade at Glendover Elementary. She taught 2 year olds at Mom’s Day Out at Tates Creek Presbyterian Church for five years. Catherine has been the 3’s teacher at St. Michael’s for three years. She enjoys teaching with hands on activities and centers, finger play and songs, and every day skills. She has three boys that attended St. Michael’s. 


Tamera Dotson Miller – 4 and 5 Day – 3 year old Teacher

Tamera is a certified K-8th grade teacher and went to EKU for undergrad and received her Masters Degree from Georgetown College. She taught Kindergarten and Early Start with Fayette Co. Public Schools from 1989-1996. Her 3 children, former students of St. Michael’s, are now in college. She has been a 3 year old teacher with St. Michael’s since 2011. 

Amy Hill- 3 day -3 year old Teacher


Sarah Pearson – Art Teacher

Sarah graduated from University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in Psychology in 2003. She received her M.Ed in Early Childhood Education from Towson University in 2006. Sarah started at Saint Michael’s School as as substitute teacher in 2014 and then became the three day a week floater in 2016.  January 2018 she was hired as the Art Teacher. Previously, Sarah worked as Service Coordinator for Bluegrass First Steps. Sarah has two children, both attended Saint Michael’s School for preschool.  


Jennifer Alexander – P.E. and Spanish Teacher

Jennifer has been teaching P.E. at St. Michael’s for seven years and Spanish for three years. She graduated from Transylvania University with an Elementary Education major and a Spanish minor. She has a Masters in Education from Georgetown College. She taught Kindergarten (both full-day and half-day) for six years before staying at home with her children. 


Meredith Raybould – Music Teacher

Meredith is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Music Theory & History. She has held various positions in education including 4th grade public school teacher, Carnegie Center tutoring program coordinator, bookseller, and daycare provider. She has been with St. Michael’s since 2014. 


Jessie Vogt – Aide in Mrs. Fleenor’s Young 5’s class

Jessie graduated from Davidson College with a BA in Art History. She then got her Masters in elementary education from the University of Massachusetts. She taught in the NYC public schools for two years before moving abroad and teaching in Abu Dhabi. More recently, she taught preschool in Westchester NY before moving to Lexington in 2018. She has two children; the youngest attended St. Michael’s. 


Kimberly Wallace/ Stephanie Moore – Aide in Mrs. Sylvester’s 4 year old class



Barbara Ann Rockefeller – Aide in Mrs. Wallace’s 4 year old class

Barbara Ann has an A.A.S. in Business Administration SUNY Cobleskill and is a graduate of Katherin Gibbs School. She has a varied work experiences including Executive Assistant, Office Manager, Flight Attendant, and Volunteer. She has been with St. Michael’s since 2014. 


Marianne Patterson – Aide in Mrs. Hill’s 3 year old class 

Marianne has a B.A. in American Studies from Hollins University and one year of post-baccalaureate courses in Elementary Education from Georgetown College. She has many years of experience as an instructional assistant and school volunteer. She has been with St. Michael’s since 2011 and is currently the aide in Mrs. Miller’s 3 year old class. 


Kelli Thompson – Aide in Mrs. Miller’s 3 year old class 

Kelly has a B.A. in education from the University of Kentucky and an M.A. in Elementary Education from Georgetown College. She taught Elementary School in Fayette Co. Public Schools for ten years before deciding to stay at home with her three children, all graduates of St. Michael’s School. She has been with St. Michael’s since 2009.
