The Staff at St. Michael’s School

Beth Fleenor – Director and Young 5’s Teacher

Beth has a M.A. in Speech / Language Pathology from the University of Illinois and a B.S. in Audiology and Speech Science from Purdue University. She has been with St. Michael’s School since 1999, beginning as a classroom assistant until 2003 – then transitioning to the Young 5’s Teacher in 2004. She became director in 2010. 

 

Donna Bruck – 4 year old Teacher

Donna graduated from Augusta College with a B.A. in Elementary Education and Concentration in Natural Science. She received a Masters Degree from IUSB in Learning Disabilities. Before St. Michael’s she taught Elementary School and Junior High for eight years. She has been with St. Michael’s for eleven years and has taught Readiness, Young 5’s, and currently is teaching one of our 4’s classes. 

 

Ginny Barrett – 4 year old Teacher

Ginny has a B.A. degree in Elementary Education from Transylvania University and a M.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky. She taught for two years in the gifted and talented program in Montgomery Co., KY an one year at St. Paul School in Lexington. She taught 5th grade at All Saints Episcopal School in San Diego, CA for five years. While at St. Michael’s she has taught 1st grade Readiness, Kindergarten and the 4 year old preschool class. She has been with St. Michael’s since 2000. 

 

Tamera Dotson Miller – 4 and 5 Day – 3 year old Teacher

Tamera is a certified K-8th grade teacher and went to EKU for undergrad and received her Masters Degree from Georgetown College. She taught Kindergarten and Early Start with Fayette Co. Public Schools from 1989-1996. Her 3 children, former students of St. Michael’s, are now in college. She has been a 3 year old teacher with St. Michael’s since 2011. 

 

Catherine Sylvester – 3 day – 3 year old Teacher

Catherine graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She taught for six years in Charleston, SC, teaching preschool for a year and 1st Grade for five years. She moved to Lexington in 2005 and taught a year of Kindergarten and a year of 1st Grade at Glendover Elementary. She taught 2 year olds at Mom’s Day Out at Tates Creek Presbyterian Church for five years. Catherine has been the 3’s teacher at St. Michael’s for three years. She enjoys teaching with hands on activities and centers, finger play and songs, and every day skills. She has three boys that attended St. Michael’s. 

 

Adele Mroz – Art Teacher

Adele has been with St. Michael’s for over 20 years sharing her love of art and education. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachesetts in Amherst with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art Education with a concentration in printmaking. She has worked in many media, including graphic arts, fiber, stained and fused glass, ceramics and jewelry making. 

 

Jennifer Alexander – P.E. and Spanish Teacher

Jennifer has been teaching P.E. at St. Michael’s for five years and Spanish for one year. She graduated from Transylvania University with an Elementary Education major and a Spanish minor. She has a Masters in Education from Georgetown College. She taught Kindergarten (both full-day and half-day) for six years before staying at home with her children. 

 

Meredith Raybould – Music Teacher

Meredith is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Music Theory & History. She has held various positions in education including 4th grade public school teacher, Carnegie Center tutoring program coordinator, bookseller, and daycare provider. She has been with St. Michael’s since 2014. 

 

Cassie Perkins – Aide in Mrs. Fleenor’s Young 5’s class

Cassie has a degree in Sociology from Transylvania University. She taught Pre-K for four years while living in Atlanta, GA before having children. She has been the Head Diving Coach at the Signature Club of Lansdowne for nineteen years. She has two daughters, both attended St. Michael’s School. She has been with St. Michael’s for one year. 

 

Susan Wallace – Aide in Mrs. Bruck’s 4 year old class

Susan graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1986 with a Major in Accounting. She moved to Cincinnati after graduation where she lived for ten years before coming to Lexington in 1996. She has three children and has worked at St. Michael’s since 2006. 

 

Barbara Ann Rockefeller – Aide in Mrs. Barrett’s 4 year old class

Barbara Ann has an A.A.S. in Business Administration SUNY Cobleskill and is a graduate of Katherin Gibbs School. She has a varied work experiences including Executive Assistant, Office Manager, Flight Attendant, and Volunteer. She has been with St. Michael’s since 2014. 

 

Marianne Patterson – Aide in Mrs. Miller’s 3 year old class 

Marianne has a B.A. in American Studies from Hollins University and one year of post-baccalaureate courses in Elementary Education from Georgetown College. She has many years of experience as an instructional assistant and school volunteer. She has been with St. Michael’s since 2011 and is currently the aide in Mrs. Miller’s 3 year old class. 

 

Kelli Thompson – Aide in Mrs. Sylvester’s 3 year old class 

Kelly has a B.A. in education from the University of Kentucky and an M.A. in Elementary Education from Georgetown College. She taught Elementary School in Fayette Co. Public Schools for ten years before deciding to stay at home with her three children, all graduates of St. Michael’s School. She has been with St. Michael’s since 2009.
